Zoho CRM: New Language Options to Boost Localization and User Experience

Hello everyone,

Imagine a global company with teams in various countries, each using their preferred language for work. For example, the sales team in France operates in French, the marketing team in Australia uses English (Australia), and the support team in Tamil Nadu, India relies on Tamil.

To ensure every team member can effectively use Zoho CRM, we've expanded our translation features to support more languages, making the system more accessible and inclusive for teams worldwide.

Previously, users could choose from a range of supported languages, including various regional ones. Admins could use the translations feature to export language files and customize translations for specific elements, such as module names, subform fields, related lists, and picklist values, before re-importing the file. The system would then automatically translate these values. With this latest enhancement, we’re broadening the language support, allowing users to translate core CRM elements while retaining default language settings for any untranslated parts.
With our latest enhancement, we're expanding the translation feature to support even more languages and enabling users to translate key values in the CRM interface while ensuring that untranslated content remains in the default language.

Zoho CRM sets each user’s default language based on their interface language setting. For example, users who select English (Australia) will default to English (United States), Spanish (Argentina) defaults to Spanish, and Tamil (India) defaults to English (United States). Once the preferred language is added, admins can export the language file, translate necessary elements, and re-import the file for use within CRM.

After this is done, users can choose English (Australia), Tamil, or any other available language and use it comfortably within the CRM.

Example in Action

Let’s say Tamil (India) is chosen as the interface language. Key interface elements like the module names for Leads, Contacts, and Accounts will display in Tamil, while default elements—such as those on the Setup page—will remain in English.

Notes

Notes:

  • The Enterprise edition supports up to 25 active languages, while the Ultimate edition allows for 35 (both in trial and paid versions).

  • Translated elements are also visible in the mobile app, ensuring consistency across devices.
