Step into the New Marketing Automation 2.0 with Zoho Marketing Plus

Step into the New Marketing Automation 2.0 with Zoho Marketing Plus

Hey everyone,

Zoho announced the latest upgrade to Marketing Automation in Zoho Marketing Plus, designed to streamline your marketing efforts with new features and an improved user experience.
Here’s a quick look at what’s new and how you can transition to the updated version.

Fresh New Look and Feel

The Marketing Automation module now boasts a completely redesigned user interface, making it easier than ever to navigate and manage your marketing activities. From campaign creation and personalized journeys to generating leads through signup forms and building landing pages, everything is more intuitive.

Enhanced Contact Management

Managing your contacts is now simpler with the new Contacts module, previously known as Leads. The updated dashboard provides a comprehensive view of your contacts, including metrics on total contacts, those ready for marketing or sales, and contacts by various stages, sources, and locations.

The detailed contacts view has been revamped to show crucial details like stages, associated lists, segments, journeys, subscription details, engagements, and a chronological timeline of activities. The Kanban view allows you to filter and drag-and-drop contacts across stages effortlessly.

Lists have been streamlined as well. Each list now features a detailed dashboard showing contact growth, associated entities, and status. You can also view associated journeys and campaigns, segment contacts based on various criteria, and manage them directly from Marketing Automation.
Additionally, the Contacts module includes lead qualification options using scores based on activities such as email interactions and website behavior.

Advanced Lead Generation

Websites are key to capturing and converting visitors into leads. Marketing Automation now offers advanced tools like signup forms, pop-ups, and landing pages to gather information from prospects and sync it with Zoho CRM. You can automatically add these leads to lists, adjust their scores, and include them in specific journeys.

Website Performance Insights

Monitoring your website’s performance is crucial for optimizing conversions. The updated Marketing Automation module includes a detailed dashboard with analytics on visitor behavior and acquisition. The behavior report provides insights into visitor interactions, top-performing pages, and navigation paths. The acquisition report reveals how visitors arrive at your site, helping you identify effective channels and plan your marketing strategies accordingly. With PageSense integrated, all your website goals and analytics are in sync with Marketing Automation.

Streamlined Campaign Management

Creating and managing campaigns is now more efficient. Marketing Automation supports email campaigns, surveys, webinars, SMS campaigns, and WhatsApp promotions. The journey builder has also been updated with Journey X-Ray, allowing you to analyze and optimize customer journeys based on engagement metrics.

Personalize touchpoints with Journeys

The journey builder comes with a lot of updates. With Journey X-Ray, you can dissect and understand the path your contacts take, the most- and least-engaged actions, the number of entrances and exits, and a lot more. This is designed to give you a better understanding of your customer journey across various touchpoints to help optimize them further.

All the journeys you've created in previous versions will be migrated to the new version as drafts. The following components are deprecated in the new version:

Triggers
Actions
Missed goal
Date field trigger (revised)
Email action trigger (revised)
Video click
Attachment download
Send survey mail
Reminder loop
A/B test
Three-way condition
Update deal
Mile stone
End of process components

If you've created journeys with these deprecated components, you'll need to replace them manually before migrating them to the new version.

Also, any autoresponders from the previous version will be discontinued in 2.0. You can convert your old autoresponders into journeys.

Revamped roles and permissions

Roles and privileges in Marketing Plus enable you to define and control access to data and various features in Marketing Plus. There are four different roles available by default: Brand Admin, Brand Marketer, Brand Member, and Event Member. Previously, Marketing Automation users were only permitted to manage the records they created.

Now, we've introduced more control over how users can access data and features. You can define appropriate permissions for contacts and lists, lead generation functions, marketing channels, websites, and assets.

Transitioning to the New Version

The new Marketing Automation will be available to all Marketing Plus users starting June 4, 2024. To access the new version, you’ll need to migrate your topics, integrations, SMS gateways, and smart URLs.

Migrating Topics: Topics are now associated directly with contacts, with the ability to link multiple topics to a contact and allow unsubscribes based on preferences.
Migrating Integrations: Only the administrator of both applications can manage integrations and syncs. Ensure you select the account you want to retain during migration.
Migrating SMS Providers: SMS campaigns will now be sent to mobile numbers specified in the Mobile field. Update your contact information accordingly to avoid issues.
Migrating Smart URLs: You can now create smart URLs with a default or custom domain, but only one custom domain can be connected. Choose the domain you wish to migrate.

To access the new version

  1. Go to the Marketing Automation module in Marketing Plus and click Switch to new version
  2. Click Proceed in the pop-up.
  3. In the Topic Management tab, click Migrate now
