Instant WhatsApp Messaging for Individual Contacts

Dear Zoho Desk Users, 

Zoho made it easier for agents to send WhatsApp messages directly from the quick actions menu. Now, agents can click the dropdown arrow next to the plus sign (+) at the top of their desk or use the keyboard shortcut "w+" to send a WhatsApp message to any contact.


Here's what you need to know:
  • Even if an agent doesn't have permission to create contacts, they can still send WhatsApp messages. However, no record will be created in the module.

  • If an agent isn't allowed to view contacts, the option to send a WhatsApp message won't be available to them.

  • Agents with read-only access to contacts can send messages but can't edit the contact's phone number.

  • If an agent can't see the contact number fields, they'll get an alert that field access is restricted.


Besides sending messages, agents can also create a new contact through this quick action. Entering the contact's name and number will automatically create a new record in the Contacts module.
