Zoho Creator - Essential Changes You Need to Know

Zoho Creator - Essential Changes You Need to Know

Hello Everyone,

Zoho has announced important updates to Zoho Creator's built-in connectors to boost security by following the latest standards. Some older versions of the connectors you use will be phased out, so you’ll need to update them to the latest versions. These updates are essential for maintaining top-notch security and performance.

What’s Changing?

Forte Connector

Forte has informed us that the current backend integration between Zoho Creator and Forte will be discontinued. They’re switching to a more secure, PCI-compliant system. To stay in line with this change, we’re launching an updated version of the Forte connector in Zoho Creator. If you’ve already set up a Forte connection, you’ll need to update it by following the steps below.

How to Update

For C6 Users:

  • Go to Connections under Microservices.

  • Click on the Forte connection.

  • In the Connection Details page, click Update Connection. A pop-up will appear, and after clicking Update and Authorize, another pop-up will prompt you to enter the new authorization details. After this, your Forte connector will be updated to the new version.

For C5 Users:

  • Go to Connections under Account Setup.

  • Click the three dots (...) on the Forte card. Select Update Connection from the dropdown.

  • A confirmation pop-up will appear. After clicking Update and Authorize, another pop-up will ask for your new authorization details. Once this is done, your Forte connector will be updated to the latest version.

Timeline

For users with existing Forte connections, you need to update to the new version by September 30, 2024. [Extended until October 31, 2024]. After this deadline, any unauthorized connections will stop processing transactions. We strongly advise users to update before the deadline to avoid any interruptions.

Starting September 20, 2024, any new Forte connection will automatically use the updated version.

PayPal Connector

The current PayPal connector uses basic authentication. To improve security, we’re upgrading to a new version using OAuth authentication. This change ensures better protection of data between PayPal and Zoho Creator.

How to Migrate

For C6 Users:

  • Go to Connections under Microservices.

  • Click on the PayPal connection.

  • In the Connection Details page, click Update Connection. A pop-up will appear. After clicking Update and Authorize, you’ll be redirected to the PayPal login page where you can enter your credentials. Once complete, your PayPal connector will be updated to the latest version.

For C5 Users:

  • Go to Connections under Account Setup.

  • Click the three dots (...) on the PayPal card. Select Update Connection from the dropdown.

  • A confirmation pop-up will appear. After clicking Update and Authorize, you’ll be redirected to the PayPal login page. Once you enter your credentials, your PayPal connector will be updated to the latest version.

Timeline

Existing PayPal connections will remain on the old version until manually updated. The old version will be phased out at a future date, as communicated by PayPal. We recommend users update their connections as soon as possible to avoid service disruptions.

Any new PayPal connections made after September 26, 2024 will automatically be on the new version. Updates are only needed for users with existing PayPal connections.

Payflow Pro and Payments Pro Deprecation

PayPal has announced that the Payflow Pro and Payments Pro gateways will be fully deprecated, though they haven’t set an exact date yet. Until then, existing connections will continue to function. However, creating new connections for Payments Pro and Payflow Pro will no longer be possible.

Soft Deprecation of Connectors

We are also initiating a soft deprecation for several other connectors, with newer versions being released at a later date. You will have the option to update once the new versions are ready. The following connectors are affected:
